December Missions

Merry Christmas to all the children we found along the road as we drove the stretch of Maharlika Hiway from Guinobatan thru Ligao,Oas, Polangui, Albay all the way to Nabua, Cam Sur, then back via Sabluyon barangays to Bacacay, Albay, finding the streetchildren I met last year, to serve true to a promise I made with them that I will again see them this year!! And yes we did see them again!!! Nakakatuwa excited na excited sila makita kami. Kala mo talagang kilala na nila kami.. sabi pa ng isa, ‘antay po namin kayo, Mam, talaga kasi sabi nyo dalhan nyo kaming mansanas ngayong pasko..’ and yes na enjoy nila the simple things we brought them, donuts, apples, koolers and slippers!! Thank you from the deepest recesses of my heart to FHM co-volunteers Nancy Cerillo Capuno, Toti Paliza, Jojie Botial-Oraye and her good friend, Jane Frivaldo,FHM Green Warrior, Fer Peralta , my dear high school classmates with such good hearts, Judge Cely Crisostomo and Eric Cris Chona Mendoza Calderon, my dear friend, Ems Lomerio (thank you for the extra chips and choco bars for the children of Bonga, Bacacay) and most of all to my loving sisters, Ate Laura Lontok and Lourdes Flores , Tikboy and Tisya, who initially funded this mission of mine, for with them, 600 children from all over Albay and Nabua, “a little special love” .. even amidst pandemic and all the difficulties, brought these children smile and joy this Christmas. Maraming salamat Lord for making me “us” instruments of your love!

Twelve hours on the road but time passed so quickly with all our hearts feeling full as our boxes of donuts, apples etc.. started getting empty, until only one in each remained..until wiped clean..

Promise me not to cry when u see the pictures of the underprivileged families living along maharlika hiway without even celebrating “Christmas” because all their wishes is just to survive hunger!

My very personal reason why I stopped wishing for any material things for Myself for more than 15yrs now. And shared the love of JESUS instead.
Look at the joy you brought to their humble home, a Pink Christmas lanterns, (Ami Keene) a simple noche buena packs enough for a small family to share on Christmas day.

Today we Covered Areas in Polangui, Albay and Nabua, Camarines Sur – Bituin ng Pag Asa, Brgy. Bulusan, Libon, Albay – Noche Buena pack and Bituin ng Pag Asa.

My heart is full but still bleeding inside, and i am forever grateful to people who have been continuously helping and trusting us to deliver Radical LOVE to our brothers and sisters in the laylayan. Dear FHM donors and sponsors for yearly Noche Buena mission, Boardmembers and officers of Feed Hungry Minds Library Inc. Decided to divert our remaining funds to the typhoon victims in the coastal barangays in Bohol. As per our Bohol FHM head Flordeliz Clemen as of today she is collecting datas to where we will hand our relief missions scheduled on Jan7-8-9-10 2022

Listed below are requests of the residents in the coastal brgy.

Food, water. Etc , battery inverter at solar panel for them to charge their cellfons, and flashlights since it will talke time to restore their electric supply in the area. Underwears and clothes and facemasks For both adult And children that we plan to buy in divisoria since they losts all of their clothes during rhe storm.

Food packs will be purchased in Bohol and do repacking there since we cannot bring it due to limited weight, we will only bring along important items like vitamins and meds.

However if you wish to donate clothes, vitamins etc we will also welcome that. Pls message our FHM manila team Julius Baylon Cawaling @mc MC M Avejaar Lilibeth Duran Festejo Estrella Maribel Hernandez for sked of pick up and delivery.

I give God the glory for making our event in new York recently a very successful one . And our heart is full of gratitude to each and every one who took part for the successful Feed Hungry Minds fundraising event at the Kabayan Bistro Lounge and Restaurant last night.
